# How to calculate balance of stellar address?

I tried to calculate balance of stellar address by sum of amount in “balanceEffects” of address. But the result is different with the balance in “address.tokenBalances”. It’s always a little bit missing.

According to me to calculate the balance of a Stellar address  
Use Stellar Horizon API  
Use a Blockchain Explorer
